#2 - The original house was an old hunting and fishing cabin that had been built before there were any roads on the east side of Lake Washington. Back then, the property was only accessible by boat or horseback. The cabin had no 2x4s in its walls. Its wood planks were staggered inside and out to lap the seams between the boards. There was no insulation, but the cabin was warm and snug because the roof extended all the way to the ground on the cold north side. | ![]() |
